We are delighted to announce that Paul Mahoney and Holly Fowler from the MyKnowledgeMap team will be exhibiting the MyProgress ePortfolio at the Australia and New Zealand Prevocational Medical Education Forum (ANZPMEF) 2025.
ANZPMEF is a leading event that brings together medical educators, training providers, and healthcare professionals to share best practice and innovations in medical education. The 2025 forum will provide a platform to showcase new approaches that support the training and development of doctors across Australasia and will focus on the theme of "Navigating Transitions: Feedforward and Feedback".
Using Portfolios to Support Medical Graduates' Transition into Prevocational Training
In line with the conference theme, Holly Fowler, Professional Services Manager at MyKnowledgeMap, has been selected to deliver an oral presentation in the Concurrent Stream “A Systems Lens on Feedback”.
📅 Tuesday, 11 November 2025
🕓 4:45pm – 5:00pm
Holly’s talk, “Using Portfolios to Support Medical Graduates’ Transition into Prevocational Training”, will explore how PGY1 trainees face a range of challenges, including adjusting to the demands of the hospital environment, navigating the transition from medical school, developing clinical skills and knowledge, and managing their workload and well-being. They also face the pressure of balancing their learning and training requirements with the expectations of a healthcare system that views them as both trainees and employees.
Part of Holly’s presentation will look at findings from our global survey of medical schools, exploring how closely aligned clinical assessments need to be with early career assessments in practice, and how important it is that the portfolio in final year of medical school aligns with postgraduate.

MyProgress: Powering Clinical Learning Australia
As the provider of Clinical Learning Australia (CLA), MyProgress underpins the national digital portfolio used by all medical graduates as they transition from medical school to prevocational training (PGY1 & PGY2).

CLA provides a consistent platform for medical graduates as they progress through the early years of practice, ensuring assessments, feedback, and development records are captured reliably and aligned with national standards. By underpinning CLA, MyProgress plays a crucial role in supporting junior doctors, supervisors, and training organisations with the tools they need to enhance learning and ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
By partnering with Australian medical schools, MyProgress enables alignment between undergraduate clinical programs and the prevocational curriculum. For example:
Introducing Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) early in training.
Familiarising students with AMC Outcome Statements, progressing from Graduate to Prevocational outcomes.
Demonstrating the MyProgress ePortfolio
The MyProgress ePortfolio is trusted worldwide to support workplace-based learning and assessment. It provides seamless, real-time feedback and assessment via mobile devices, even offline, giving learners and supervisors flexibility in busy clinical settings.

At ANZPMEF 2025, we will be offering hands-on demonstrations of how MyProgress helps training programs to:
Streamline assessment processes
Empower learners to take ownership of their development
Gather evidence of learning against AMC’s National Framework
Support EPAs, Mid and End of Term Assessments, reflections, logbooks, and more
Consistently evaluate clinical competence
Provide supervisors with actionable insights
Ensure robust reporting and alignment with accreditation requirements
Meet the Team
Paul and Holly will be available throughout the conference to showcase MyProgress, answer questions, and discuss how the ePortfolio can be tailored to support medical education providers across Australia, New Zealand, and beyond.
We look forward to connecting with delegates, sharing experiences, and learning from colleagues in the field of medical education.
