17 specialties are already supported, spanning from the one-year dental internship to multi-year programs like internal medicine (four years) and adult neurology (five years). And this is just the beginning.

From Pilot to Nationwide Rollout

After months of successful pilots, the NIHS ePortfolio is now fully live, with placements scheduled to begin in October 2025. This milestone represents not only a technological achievement, but also a national step forward in preparing the next generation of healthcare specialists.

Built with accessibility and security in mind, the NIHS ePortfolio integrates directly with UAE PASS, the national single sign-on solution described as “a single trusted digital identity for all citizens, residents, and visitors.” This means every user enjoys a frictionless, secure, and trusted login experience.

Designed for Learners, Built for Excellence

The NIHS ePortfolio doesn’t just record progress, it empowers learners and educators alike. The system includes:

• Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) recording

• Case and procedure logs

• Tailored EPA and milestone dashboards

• Summative reports completed by program directors

Learners can use an app to log cases and procedures.

The EPA dashboard has been custom-built to NIHS’s exact requirements, offering faculty and assessors deep insights into student performance.

Competencies are mapped against world-leading frameworks, primarily CanMEDS, with the option to view alignment to the ACGME framework.
