Moving Organisations

Within the custom role options, users can be allowed to move Organisations within their visible hierarchy. This is done through the Organisation options.

Progress View Improvements

Ability to add custom Comment Channels to Progress Views.

This feature allows the ability to add personalised commenting channels on Progress Views. The channels can restrict visibility, adding comments and acknowledging comments, by user role - unlike existing commenting channels which are available to all roles.

Ability to hide "general" Comments area in Progress Views

Currently within a Progress View, on a students Portfolio, the "general" Comments area is visible to all users; within Version 8.4, the new option to hide this is now available within the Template/Deployment.

Restrictions - Practice Staff Relationship

Since Version 8.1, any role linked by a relationship - for example Practice Educator, Mentor, Practice Assessor, Practice Supervisor could not be used to restrict views on a Program Instance/Template. This is now fixed in 8.4, with the new option of specifying a "Relationship" when enabling restrictions.

Should customers with issues relating to the restrictions need support updating Templates with the new "Relationship" option, please drop a ticket to our Service Desk with the requirements.

Improvements to user import

The User Import process has been improved, to allow more users to be imported, even when the MyProgress site is under load.

When a user import spreadsheet has been validated, a notification screen shows that the import is in progress and when the import is complete a new user import summary screen shows some key information about the import and time taken, which is useful for troubleshooting and diagnostic purposes.

There is now a limit of 1000 on the number of users who can be imported at once, and users will be warned if they try and import more users than this. If you need to import more users, you should import them in batches of 1000 or fewer.

General Fixes

i) Bug Fix - Prior to 8.4, the "meetings" widget was scoped to current placements and parts, which meant it didn't display any meetings if there was no current placement/rotation within the students Portfolio. Myprogress 8.4 introduces a change which removes the need for a current flag within the Program Instance.

ii) Bug Fix - When importing via the allocation spreadsheet, placements with the same start/end date will not import which means it is not possible to import day-long placements. We've fixed this allowing start/end dates to be the same if required.

iii) Bug Fix - If multiple languages are enabled on a site, under certain circumstances, the "flag" of the "default" country was displaying. This should not occur and a fix has been added to hide the "default" country flag.

iv) Performance - When customers have a large hierarchy of Providers, the page can struggle to load all of them accurately, without the need for a refresh of the page. We have improved this page to allow larger hierarchy's to load quickly and accurately.

v) Performance - Currently the reports "timeout" after 90 seconds if no report is produced. We have extended the processing time-out to 4 minutes, to allow for larger reports to be produced. If a report takes longer than 4 minutes to be produced, please send us the details of the search parameters via a ticket and we will send by return.
