At Fakeeh College for Medical Sciences (FCMS), preparing students for clinical excellence means providing them with the right tools from day one. That’s why FCMS has adopted MyProgress ePortfolio, a comprehensive platform designed to support the unique needs of medicine and nursing education and assessment.
Supporting Every Stage of Healthcare Education
MyProgress will be central to supporting the entire learning journey for FCMS students across three key programs:
Medicine (MBBS) – a 6-year program plus a 1-year internship, where students develop deep clinical and diagnostic capabilities.
Nursing – a 4-year program plus a 1-year internship, focusing on foundational and advanced nursing practice.
Accelerated Nursing – an intensive 3-year program plus 1-year internship designed for rapid entry into the nursing workforce.
From foundational learning to clinical placements and internship years, MyProgress provides the digital infrastructure to track, assess, and support each learner’s journey.
Tailored Assessment for Medicine and Nursing
MyProgress is built to handle complex, discipline-specific assessment tools used in clinical education.
For Nursing, learners will be assessed using, amongst others:

These assessments are mapped within MyProgress so students can see real-time feedback and progression, while faculty gain clear oversight of clinical competence and development.

With a mobile app that works offline, students and clinical supervisors can capture feedback, assessments, and reflections even without internet access during hospital placements in real time. The platform allows for structured and freeform feedback and self-reflection, critical in developing clinical judgment and professionalism.

Faculty can provide feedback using rubrics, comments, or audio notes.
Tracking Progress Against Graduate Capabilities
Through the use of Progress Views, MyProgress allows medical students to map their practical skills to graduate capabilities. This means medical students can see their progression in real time, understand where they are excelling, and identify areas needing improvement. When a student completes a practical skill, MyProgress automatically maps it ready for grading as Pass or Fail.
Role-Based Access
At FCMS, various stakeholders, students, academic staff, clinical instructors, preceptors, and external assessors interact with MyProgress based on custom roles. Each role has tailored access, ensuring secure and relevant visibility into the ePortfolio content.
