MyProgress Rolls Out at the University of Brighton

MyKnowledgeMap is delighted to announce that the University of Brighton has selected MyProgress to support its Health Sciences programmes.

MyProgress is an industry-leading workplace-based assessment and e-portfolio tool designed specifically to support medicine and healthcare education.

As a leading education provider, the University of Brighton’s School of Sport and Health Sciences was looking for one software solution to support its disciplines. Between 2023 and 2025 MyProgress will roll out to nine disciplines at the School of Sport and Health Sciences at the University of Brighton:

  • Return to Practice - Nursing
  • Nurse Associates
  • Physiotherapy
  • Nursing
  • Midwifery
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Paramedic Science
  • Podiatry
  • Diagnostic Radiography

Students at the University of Brighton’s School of Sport and Health Sciences will be able to install the MyProgress mobile app in order to carry their assessment documentation with them at all times on their mobile device. MyProgress has an intuitive interface that’s easy to use and navigate, with a portfolio of progress all in one place, making it easy for a student to instantly see what has yet to be completed.

When the opportunity arises to be assessed in practice, the student brings up the appropriate assessment form and hands the device to the Practice Assessor. The assessor can leave feedback in writing or using speech-to-text functionality. The app works offline, enabling easy capture of feedback in challenging clinical areas, and is also available on the web. Feedback can be signed off without the need to create an account, and there are a wide variety of signoff workflows to support all situations.

Faculty staff can instantly review a student’s portfolio and progress, message students and practice staff through MyProgress, enabling them to provide targeted tailored support when and where needed. Students are able to download practice feedback for future use.

MyProgress was particularly appealing to the University of Brighton due to its existing geographical footprint. The fact that the University of Southampton and Chichester already use MyProgress makes it easier for practice staff in the region to have just one digital practice assessment system to use.

As the MyProgress interface can be configured to support all disciplines, the University of Brighton’s School of Sport and Health Sciences has one software tool for all its health programmes. This continuity throughout the school has several benefits; it is far easier to for the admin team to support one system instead of multiple, it simplifies the IT architecture, and it reduces overheads and there’s a cost benefit to using fewer systems.

MyKnowledgeMap’s MyProgress e-portfolio and assessment solution is now used by approximately 50% of UK Nursing students, and an increasing number in Australia, Singapore, USA and Europe.
