e-Learning professionals from across the world gathered in Long Beach, California, in May for the industry's "Oscars", the IMS Global Learning Impact Awards, and MyKnowledgeMap's innovative work on the ALPS programme was recognised with a Gold Award.

The Assessment and Learning in Practice Settings (ALPS) programme received this prestigious award for promoting the concept of competency maps and interprofessional assessments linked to e-portfolios to enhance the student learning experience in preparation for work based learning, employability and life long learning.

MyKnowledgeMap developed the Assessment Tiger mobile system to allow students in medical and health and social care settings to receive and respond to assessments on a smartphone. Tutors were able to author assessments and deploy them to students' smartphones, and review responses in an e-portfolio. The University of Leeds School of Medicine has since issued their students with iPhones, which run the latest Assessment Tiger App.

The IMS Global Learning Consortium is a non-profit consortium whose contributing members are leading institutions, suppliers, and governments worldwide that collaborate on interoperability and adoption of standards-based digital learning innovations, such as e-books, e-learning, and e-assessment.

The Learning Impact Award Showcase is an executive level gathering of educational leaders, suppliers, and government organizations to encourage new ways to think and collaborative action.
