A new self-paced email course for those new to Open Badges launched today, with MyKnowledgeMap as the foundational sponsors.

The five lessons, produced by the Open Badge experts at We Are Open Coop and delivered comfortably to your inbox, make up a crash course in all things badges—and introduce tools like openbadges.me and badgeup.me which can be used to author and showcase badges.

MyKnowledgeMap is part of a new £1m collaborative research and development consortium, co-funded by Innovate UK, the UK's innovation agency, which will improve the customer experience on the high street.

The project will allow all stakeholders, such as individual market traders, multiple retailers, landlords, and the local authority, to decide collectively on collaboration interventions in their towns and then monitor their impact on both individual and collective sales, footfall and customer experience ratings.

Manchester Metropolitan University's new Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (CMDA) course will go live next week with an intake of 55 students, using Myshowcase.me as the course e-portfolio.

Degree Apprenticeships are an important new initiative from the government that supports individuals to study for a degree while employed. With the introduction of the Employer Training Levy in April 2017, the demand for Degree Apprenticeships from employers is expected to be high. We have been working in this area for some time and Myshowcase.me is proving fitself in addressing some key challenges for these courses.

The University of Dundee, the University of Edinburgh, Robert Gordon University and University College Dublin have licensed Myprogress for managing student assessments.

University College Dublin are rolling out the system for assessing their Vetinary students in practice. The University of Dundee will be using Myprogress with their medical students. The nursing departments at Robert Gordon University and the University of Edinburgh are using Myprogress to deliver an electronic version of the Scottish Ongoing Achievement Record for nursing.

Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine has adopted Myprogress for the assessment of clinical skills and entrustable professional activities with undergraduates on clinical rotation.

Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine has become the latest school to adopt Myprogress for assessment in clinical settings. The system will be used to support students on placements across the Northwestern Medicine Health System, allowing them to capture feedback and evidence of skills using an offline mobile app and supporting web platform.

A project to assess second-year nursing students on placement across Cambridgeshire, using tablets running the Myprogress app, has been commended by the Nursing and Midwifery Council as an example of innovative practice.

The University of Minnesota Medical School has purchased Myprogress for assessing undergraduates in clinical placements.

Based in Minneapolis and Duluth, Minnesota, the University of Minnesota Medical School provides care to nearly 1 million patients across Minnesota, and trains more than 70% of Minnesota's physicians. The school will be using Myprogress to record observed patient encounters and clinical experience using student's mobile devices, and will begin rolling the system out in the 2015/2016 academic year.
