MyKnowledgeMap Managing Director, Adam Doyle to present at the Learning and Teaching Expo in Hong Kong

12 December, 2018

As part of the Department for International Trade’s Northern Power House mission, MyKnowledgeMap will be introducing our learning technology products Myshowcase.me and Openbadges.me.

The annual Learning and Teaching Expo is Asia’s leading education expo and Hong Kong’s signature education event. As part of the Department for International Trade’s Northern Power House mission, MyKnowledgeMap will be introducing our learning technology products Myshowcase.me and Openbadges.me.

Throughout the Expo we will be demonstrating how Myshowcase.me can be used to support both student-centred learning and continuous professional development for teachers.  As a digital portfolio designed to collate evidence and track progress, Myshowcase.me allows the learner to be assigned tasks, upload content and map them against their curriculum or competencies, as well as receive feedback and grades on completed tasks.  We will also present how Openbadgse.me can be used to motivate students and celebrate their achievements, by issuing digital badges that can be stored in a personalised digital backpack.

The Expo aims to provide opportunities for innovative international education suppliers to meet with teachers and education professionals from the Hong Kong, Chinese and Asia-Pacific region to exchange ideas, skills and best practices. MyKnowledgeMap Managing Director, Adam Doyle has also been invited to share a presentation surrounding the topic of “Supporting Mastery Using a Digital Portfolio” on Thursday 13 December. Throughout his presentation Adam will outline our approach on how digital portfolios can support the shift towards mastery- based education and address some of the challenges in recording and tracking of student progress.

This is the first year that MyKnowledgeMap have taken part in the Expo, so our attendance of the conference should provide excellent opportunities to raise awareness on how digital portfolios and open badges can be used to enhance the learners experience and celebrate how learning technology can help to nurture the leaders of tomorrow.
