26 January 2007 - MKM join forces with Martha Kearney to produce film for charity A-CET
MyKnowledgeMap was delighted to be joined by Martha Kearney this week, to record a voiceover on behalf of A-CET, the charity both MKM and Martha support.
Martha kindly agreed to lend her voice for a promotional film we are working to produce for A-CET, and yesterday managed to spare time in her busy schedule to record the voiceover using a script written specially by MyKnowledgeMap for the project.
Through the film, we aim to highlight the important work the charity undertakes, showing some of the young lives they have helped transform. We are hoping to host this on both our website and A-CET’s and are excited at the prospect of seeing the film screened on the Community Channel—something which would further help to raise awareness on the good work A-CET does.
A-CET (African Children’s Educational Trust) is a small, independent charity which supports over 1,000 African young people in Ethiopia and Sierra Leone, enabling them to pursue and continue their education. The charity provides financial assistance, scholarships, clothing, tools and books and works to help local communities build and equip their schools, so that more of their children can go to school.
Many of the students are orphans and street children; many have disabilities. By helping them to gain an education, A-CET helps them to find employment and the means to help themselves—the opportunity to build a future.
We’d like to say a huge thankyou to Boosey & Hawkes for making the project possible by kindly recording the voiceover for us at their studios in Aldwych.
