01 December 2006 - Storywriter Toolkit receives approval from BECTA for Curriculum Online use in schools
MyKnowledgeMap was delighted to hear that our innovative Storywriter Toolkit has been approved by BECTA, the Government agency supporting all four UK education departments in their strategic ICT developments this month. The toolkit is now available for schools to purchase through Curriculum Online using Government-funded e-learning credits.
Storywriter Toolkit is an invaluable tool for teachers looking to engage their learners and provoke them to start considering the various issues involved with many key areas of the curriculum. Students can create the stories themselves or simply determine the outcome of a story prepared by their teacher using the decision points provided. Our latest version now enables the use of digital photographs in the panels, allowing the activities to be even better tailored to students' learning needs. Teachers can even let students take their own photographs to upload into the panels for a truly unique comic strip adventure!
The approval from BECTA serves as official confirmation of what we at MyKnowledgeMap already knew—that Storywriter Toolkit is a versatile, easy-to-use program capable of supporting the National Curriculum in specific areas of each subject’s programme of study.
