Multi-Port

Grow your e-portfolio

Multi-Port™ is an award-winning infrastructure for managing online and offline assessments using mobile devices. From smartphones and PDAs to laptops and ultramobile PCs, Multi-Port makes it easy for you to deliver assessments to learners wherever they are.

Combine a range of tools and services

Multi-Port has a flexible framework which is designed to support e-portfolios and other learning platforms. This allows you to integrate multiple tools and components, such as:

  • Skills gap analysis tools
  • Blogs
  • Learning delivery systems
  • Authoring tools
  • Virtual Learning Environments (such as Moodle)
  • Learning Management Systems

The underlying framework then handles how the information is stored, managed and communicated between the tools and systems.

Blend formal with informal assessments

Multi-Port’s open framework means tutors and trainers can easily blend different kinds of assessment and learning support - from formal competency-based questions to with a more informal online spaces like blogs and discussion forums.

Integrating the Multi-Port framework lets you stay on the cutting edge of current learning trends in how to manage and store different kinds of information.

Award-winning

Previously, Multi-Port has been used in  the ALPS system to allow tutors to send assessment packages to the mobile devices of learners on work-based practice. The learners can then build up evidence of their skills and development using the multimedia capabilities of their phones.
