Case Studies

MyKnowledgeMap has substantial experience of working with Moodle. The case studies below show some of the work we've done with Moodle.

Open University

Open University logoMyKnowledgeMap has built an audio recording tool for use by foreign language students studying with the Open University. Students launch the tool from inside their Moodle course to record themselves speaking the language they are learning. Their tutor then logs in to Moodle to listen to each student’s recordings. Recordings are converted into MP3 files so they can be re-used later.

Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS)

LSIS logoLSIS, previously known as CEL, commissioned MyKnowledgeMap to produce e-learning to sit in their existing Moodle installation, and were also keen to have the learning log functionality from MyKnowledgeMap’s Multi-Port system.

MyKnowledgeMap rebuilt the learning log as a Moodle module allowing learner reflections recorded within the e-learning to be fed through to the learning log reflective diary. Tutors and students could then review their learning experiences in the learning log at any point and print out a formatted record of learning.

Foundation Degree in Retail Management

Foundation Degree Forward logoMyKnowledgeMap has worked with Foundation Degree Forward, the Retail Academy, Manchester Metropolitan University and University of the Arts London to produce both the Foundation Degree in Retail Management course materials and the course delivery system.

As part of this development, there was a requirement to use Moodle for the e-learning section of the course delivery system. MyKnowledgeMap’s solution was to seamlessly integrate Moodle into MyKnowledgeMap’s Multi-Port system giving the students and tutors Multi-Port’s rich graphic user-interface with Moodle working in the back-end.
