The following case studies show some of the organisations who have benefitted from our Content Rescue service.

Manchester City Council

Manchester City Council had previously purchased some e-learning from the Financial Services Authority which they were happy with, but which was only available on CD-ROM. The City Council in Manchester was keen to use the e-learning, however they wanted to be able to offer it to all their staff and track the progress of individual employees.

MyKnowledgeMap was able to convert the third party e learning into a SCORM 1.2 conformant course, suitable for delivery through the Council’s LMS. This allowed Manchester City Council to roll out the same e-learning across all their departments and use SCORM tracking to monitor the development of various members of staff.

Chartered Management Institute

When the management curriculum changed in 2008, the Chartered Management Institute asked MyKnowledgeMap to redevelop their e learning to meet the new standards. This involved content mapping and the creation and addition of new content.

The Content Rescue service realigned the e learning with a new complex course structure and provided new material for the Level 5 Certificate in Management and Leadership.

Anderson Peak Performance (APP)

APP is a management and personal development consultancy which specialises in stress management, well being and career transition. They approached MyKnowledgeMap in 2007 with a request to make their course on Managing Pressure at Work available to a large number of managers.

The content came to the Content Rescue team in Microsoft PowerPoint, who then repackaged it as SCORM conformant e learning which could be delivered online.

Retail Academy

Last year MyKnowledgeMap was asked to create PDF workbooks for the Retail Academy’s NVQ Level 2. This involved converting fully interactive e learning into workbooks which could be printed and worked through by hand. Due to the nature of the e learning, much of the content was re-engineered to work well in a workbook format.

Edexcel

In 2005, Edexcel International identified a demand for the HND in e-business in Bahrain. MyKnowledgeMap had previously developed e learning for the course in English and meeting the demand involved translating the entire course into Arabic.

There were challenges involved in the undertaking, not least working with a different language and an alternative character set. However, with the combined expertise of a consultant translator and the Content Rescue team, the content was made available in Arabic and the requirement was met.
