Rob Arntsen - CEO
Rob formed MyKnowledgeMap in March 2000 after working at IBM for
22 years. During his time at IBM he held a number of senior
management positions, including UK Manager of New Markets, Northern
Region Manager for General Business Division, and Learning
Technologies Solutions Manager for Europe, Middle East and
Africa. This extensive career has given him expertise in both
general management and the learning technology industry and
continues to guide the progression and success of MyKnowledgeMap
today.
Rob was appointed as a member of the government's National
Advisory Council for Continuous Education and Lifelong Learning,
Technology Working Group and served as a member of the Working
Group on Widening Participation by the Council for Industry and
Higher Education. He was a member of the original IPPR group that
produced the proposal for the University for Industry. He also
previously served as a member of the CBI Regional Council for
Yorkshire & Humberside.
In 2005, Rob was part of the LSDA national steering group on
Innovation in Teaching and Learning. He served as governor and
Chair of Audit for a large FE college for many years and was
recently appointed as a member of the new regional council for the
LSC for Yorkshire and Humber.
Tom Holland - Southern Region and Marketing and Communications
Director
Tom joined MyKnowledgeMap in 2004 after completing a PhD in
Modern Literature at York University. He began his career at
MyKnowledgeMap in the e-learning department before moving into the
communications team in 2006. He became Director of the
communications team in 2007.
As well as representing MyKnowledgeMap at some of the most
prestigious learning technology conferences, Tom has been heavily
involved in the ALPS Project and our work with the Sector Skills
Councils.
As Marketing and Communication Director, Tom is responsible for
MyKnowledgeMap's overall product marketing strategy and developing
partner relationships. His new role as Southern Region Director see
him focusing on supporting MyKnowledgeMap's partners and developing
key business relationships in the southern region.
Dave Waller - Product Director
Dave joined MyKnowledgeMap in 2003 as part of the e-learning
development team. His background in retail management and honours
degree in Multimedia design led him to form part of the core team
that supported the development of the Certificates in Retail
Principles and, later, the Retail Detail support
infrastructure.
Dave has worked in all areas of technology-assisted learning and
skills development, including support systems and design
implementation. He has taken a pivotal role in the development of
Compendle and continues to assist clients with solutions
design.
In his role as Product Director, Dave is responsible for
overall management of all MyKnowledgeMap products and
product design. His team leads on the development of
innovative products across the spectrum of MyKnowledgeMap's
expertise.
Ian Hall - Technical Services Director
Ian joined the systems development team at MyKnowledgeMap in
2004 after gaining a 1st Class Honours Degree in IT, Business
Management and Language from the University of York. He has worked
in a variety of roles at MyKnowledgeMap, including systems
development, systems analysis, project management (becoming a
Prince 2 practitioner in 2008) and customer experience management.
He is now manager of the Technical Services team, which is
responsible for managing the development of MyKnowledgeMap's
technical projects and services.
During his time at MyKnowledgeMap, Ian has worked extensively
with Sector Skills Councils and National Skills Academies,
particularly through his work on the Skills Passport system for
Cogent, the National Skills Academy for Nuclear (NSAN) and the
National Skills Academy for Process Industries (NSAPI). He also
managed the recent re-launch of NSAPI's website and their new
membership system and the development of a database system for
Cogent to manage their National Occupational Standards.
