National Assessment Resource Scotland Goes Live
Dave Waller
An Assessment Tiger project, the National Assessment Resource
Scotland has today gone live, offering a platform for teachers
across Scotland to share resources. The project was designed to
create a central system for assessments for all schools in
Scotland. Designed to support continuous assessment for pupils aged
4-19, the resource is intended to be used by 54,000 teachers in all
3,500 schools across Scotland. The project is designed to increase
uniformity of standards and expectations for assessments across
Scotland.
The system uses MyKnowledgeMap's Assessment Tiger authoring tool
to create and edit assessment materials, which are then stored
centrally for use by teachers across Scotland. The system allows
teachers to search for and then tailor tests for their local use in
class specific context such as an end-of-term test. They can also
create new tests, which can be deployed locally and then uploaded
back into the central repository for shared use by other
teachers.
Rob Arntsen, CEO of MyKnowledgeMap, was delighted that the
project had gone live: "It is great news that we have been able to
complete this large-scale project so successfully and have been
able to offer a world class solution that will be used in every
school across Scotland".
MyKnowledgeMap worked closely on the project with leading
digital repository provider, Intrallect. The two organisations have
previously partnered on major projects, including national
resources for the NHS.
The National Assessment Resource Scotland was jointly
commissioned by Education Scotland (previously Learning and
Teaching Scotland), the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and
the Scottish Government. The National Assessment Resource is a
central system for all schools in Scotland.
