Assessment and Learning Practice Settings (ALPS) won the award
for Leading Practice in Learning Impact for a research paper at the
European Distance and E-Learning Network (EDEN) Conference
2010.
The research paper, which was co-authored by MyKnowledgeMap,
discusses the ALPS project, a mobile assessment system which is
being used by five Yorkshire Universities to support Health and
Social Care students on work-based practice. The paper was also
nominated for 'Best Research Paper in Conference'.
The paper was authored by Catherine Coates and Jill Taylor, ALPS
Teaching Fellows at Leeds Met University; Ian Hall,
MyKnowledgeMap's Technical Services Director; Julie Laxton, ALPS
Teaching Fellow at Leeds University; Chris Dearnley, ALPS Partner
Lead at Bradford University.
MyKnowledgeMap created the service platform for the ALPS project
which allows tutors to send assessments and supporting materials to
mobile devices of students on work-based practice.
EDEN (European Distance and E-Learning Network) is a well
established organisation with wide international membership. This
is therefore excellent recognition for the work of ALPS which aims
to improve the confidence and competence of health and social care
students in practice settings.
The EDEN Conference took place in Valencia between 9-11th June,
2010.
