Our Principles

It is important to know not just what we do, but how we operate.

Our objective is to increase shareholder value, but our concept of value is somewhat broader than the traditional definition of monetary value. As shareholders it is very valuable to us to earn and retain the respect of our customers, partners, employees, competitors and wider community.

If you already know MyKnowledgeMap then you will know that we operate according to the following guiding principles.

Passionate about design and innovation…

Across all dimensions of design and innovation: usability, functionality, graphic design, architecture, technical, and for e-learning the pedagogy and instructional design. Embracing new markets, new products, new alliances and new commercial models.

Delighting our customers…

We always want to be seen as good partners and suppliers… so that means delighting whenever we can…in our development, our support, our flexibility, our responsiveness, our quality, and most importantly our commitment and understanding of your requirements and priorities.

Supporting our partners…

We frequently enter into shared risk arrangements with partners and agents and invest in their future as well as ours. If they win then we win. Our guiding principles in supporting our partners are equitability and fairness.

Long term relationships are more important than short term profitability...

The modern world is based on alliances and mutual respect. We believe that we will grow and prosper if we invest in relationships with our customers and partners and avoid going for short term profit at the expense of long term relationships.

Value for money...

We have deliberately planned our operation to be as low cost as is practical and reasonable. We therefore avoid high cost offices and unnecessary overheads and unreasonable expenses. We also focus on working hard and fast delivery. Combined with a passion for design and a determination to delight… this is how we deliver value for money and extraordinary results.

Social responsibility...

This is an aspiration which is very difficult to achieve when you are a young busy and growing company. But it is important even to a small business. We believe we have managed to make progress already, but we want to do more. We encourage and support our team's personal involvement in the local community and have invested in projects which support the wider community.

Growing our people...

This principle underpins all others. If we are to have the capability to deliver all the above then we need to grow our skills and experience and we also need to continually develop as people. Ideally, working for MyKnowledgeMap should be an exciting, inspirational, supportive, rewarding and fun experience. Each member of our team has been hand picked for their individual strengths, and we build upon these strengths to develop the whole team. Everyone is important in the MyKnowledgeMap team… and our team is the underlying strength of MyKnowledgeMap.

Equal opportunity...

Every employee is responsible for ensuring MyKnowledgeMap’s policy of equal opportunity is applied to our dealings with our clients and suppliers and should, in addition, be aware that it is unlawful to commit, authorise, contribute to or condone acts of discrimination on the grounds of sex, disability or race in the provision of goods and services.
