Rob Arntsen - Managing Director

Rob has extensive experience in both the learning technology industry and in general management. He was part of IBM for twenty-two years, before leaving in March 2000 to form MyKnowledgeMap. He held a number of senior management positions within IBM including Learning Technologies Solutions Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Northern Region Manager for General Business Division, and UK Manager of New Markets.

He was appointed as a member of the National Advisory Council for Continuous Education and Lifelong Learning, Technology Working Group and served as a member of the Working Group on Widening Participation by the Council for Industry and Higher Education. He was a member of the original IPPR group that produced the proposal for the University for Industry. He was also a member of the CBI Regional Council for Yorkshire & Humberside for many years.

Most recently, in 2005, Rob was part of the LSDA national steering group on Innovation in Teaching and Learning. He is also a governor and Chair of Audit of a large FE college.

Dennis James - Commercial Director

Dennis has a background in both IT and in commerce. He has worked in a wide range of commercial fields, ranging from ladies hosiery, soft drinks and wines and spirits to plastics and paints, industrial fabrics, fine chemicals and computer services.

Dennis’s last position before forming MyKnowledgeMap was as a Business and Marketing Director in ICI. He sat on ICI’s IT and Knowledge Management boards and was instrumental in establishing their approach to Knowledge Management. He was also General Manager of CATS, the organisation responsible for the global delivery of ICI’s computing, telecommunications and software development.

Mike Moran – Operations Director

Mike worked in the Health, Social Services and Voluntary Sectors for over twenty-five years in a number of senior management and training posts. He was, most recently, Head of Staff Development and Training at Barnardos.

Mike has been commissioned by the Departments of Health and Education to develop distance learning resources and qualifications. He has extensive experience of research and government relations and has participated in a number of All Party Groups. Recently he worked with the DOH’s Equal Opportunity team to develop learning materials related to access to health services for people for whom English is not their first language.
